Christina {Seniors}

A couple of weeks ago, I received a message on Facebook from Christina. Christina is someone I met at a family reunion. She is dating my husbands second cousin? (I’ll be honest, I am not 100% sure if that is correct, but I do know she is dating a Solomon boy). Anyways, she asked me a couple of questions about her very first photography session!

“How much should I charge?”

When you’re first starting out (and even now sometimes with only a year under my belt) you have little confidence in your abilities. I would always think If I don’t charge them that much, then they can’t get mad if they look bad. I told her even if you don’t feel confident in yourself, they did ask you, so that says something…AND they are paying for your time.

Well, one day I was doing some perusing on facebook, so I decided to skim through Christina’s photos.  She reminded me of Zooey Dechanel – dark hair and really blue eyes (which is my favorite combination).  When I was little, I wished my eyes were any other color, but brown and that I had dimples.  Dimples – some call it a muscle deformity, I call it ADORABLE.

I sent her a message asking her if she wouldn’t mind having a Just For Fun session.  She was totally on board.  It came to we decided to go for a slightly retro look.

We met up on a Friday afternoon – the weather was chilly and super cloudy – perfect for taking some pictures! (I’m being serious, it really is).

I found this amazing building where I live.  It’s an old brewery that is in the process of being renovated to be fully functioning.   I called the owner and asked if he wouldn’t mind me taking some pictures and he was super nice about it (Ken was his name:)) Hey, it never hurts to ask right?

I am THE WORST at giving direction.  Trying to explain how to pose is probably one of the hardest things for me.  It’s just easier sometimes to show them…even better, they just kind of fall into the right pose.

In the back of the building, they have an old Chevy fire truck.  Loved it!

Isn’t she just stinking gorgeous?!  I asked Christina because when you meet her, she looks like the girl next door.  She’s not your bombshell super model beauty – she’s your quirky cute beauty.  She’s the kind of girl that you don’t realize how pretty she is until you stop and really look at her.

One of my favorites!  She is a doll!

Ta-Da! :)  I had so much fun and I hope Christina did too.  Thank you for letting me have some fun and practice.  You took my awkward directions better than most :)
