About Me

I’m a 30 something that has a brain that tells her she is 27….forever.  My body on the other hand schools my brain daily with little reminders, such as the inability to bounce back up from kneeling position without saying “oh my God.”  Besides that, life is good.

My husband is a N.E.R.D. in the purest form.  Don’t believe me?  He has seen Star Wars I 15 times in the theater.   If that wasn’t enough, he’s also seen every Star Wars movie on opening night!  So that line of nerds you see camped out in front the movie theater, there be my husband.  Oh and  ladies, he’s not just a Star Wars fan though. Oh No…it goes way beyond that.  He’s also a huge fan of Star Trek {Original & Next Generation} and Battlestar Galactica {okay, so am I}. No sci-fi enthusiast goes without an unhealthy collection to boot.  Yes ladies, he’s a hoarder – I mean collector.  He collects everything from the above mentioned items, as well as Beatles memorabilia.  So, it was a bit of an adjustment when we got married since…well…I don’t collect anything or date nerds.  All that said, I’m amazed he puts up with me.   I think from the beginning we acted like an old couple set in our ways.  I enjoy my alone time…and he tries his best to understand that.

When I’m not photographing, I’m sewing. I love quilting…yes, I know what time period we’re in.  Also, I’m a financial analyst for Verizon by day :)  It’s been a great company to work for.

Then there were 3.  We have a C.R.A.Z.Y 3 year old boy…and when I say crazy, I mean crazy awesome.  He is definitely showing all facets of his personality these days.  We can witness 7 different emotions in a 10 minute period.  Most people would classify that as bi-polar, but at this age it’s supposedly “normal.”  He’s the best decision we ever made and he definitely keeps me young.  Did I say young?  I meant tired.  We never talk about having baby #2 because we still remember the 3 months of colic….still…so…fresh.

I have a love/hate relationship with excercise and food. When I was younger, I always said I wanted to be a Food Critic.  You get paid to eat?!?!   I now know I would be the worst food critic considering I’m not a picky eater.  All my reviews would be “5 stars! It was deeeelish” – The new McDonald’s.

Speaking of food, I have an unhealthy addiction to Stacey’s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips, caffeine in any form, and Korean food (yes, the whole spectrum of Korean cuisine – I told you I’m not picky).

I’m one of those weird people who think I would get so much more done if I didn’t have to sleep.  Uh, that just means I over commit.

I love scary movies, but I only watch them in the daytime and usually alone.  I do this so I can enjoy the few hours of sleep I get at night.

My dream is to travel…and travel a lot.  I love the idea of seeing something I would have never seen in my small town in Oklahoma and experiencing someone elses daily life.  I love seeing airplanes take off, but envious of those that are about to embark on a journey.  Dream destination: Greece & Italy.  I have to see the Roman Coliseum before I die.

I have an unhealthy addiction to technology.  One time I left my cell phone on top of the toilet and then I jumped in the shower.  My alarm clock went off and the dang thing vibrated right into the toilet.  That 48 hours was embarrassing.  I couldn’t function – just short of catonic (not really, but it sure felt like it).

I try to find humor in my daily life.  Without laughter, life is just boring.  I do the same with photos.  9 times out of 10 your favorite photo will be a candid shot of complete laughter.  I love catching that moment.  Laugh, be silly, enjoy your moment in front of the camera.  Those are the pictures you’ll enjoy the most.
